Hauntings and Happenings

Happy Halloween from your friendly cowboy and super hero!  Ready to eat some chili and corn bread up at the church and go Trunk-or-Treating!

We took a field trip with Austin and Gabe's preschools to the Great Balloon park in Orange- a free but temperamental field trip. If there's any wind or clouds, they don't fly the balloon.  Austin had a fun experience while we were in line getting our tickets for the ride. His friend Maddy had told her Mom, "There's an animal in the corner. Can we go pet it?" to which she said "Sure," thinking, we're inside, there are no animals here, they are pretending something.  Out comes Austin with a dead rat in his hand, snapped in a trap, holding it by it's tail.  It took me a minute to grasp what I was seeing.  And before I knew it, I had hand sanitizer out of my diaper bag and "Drop it!" out of my mouth!  Really?! He's a brave one!  "I didn't know if it was a toy or if it was real!" he says.  I got a good chuckle out of that.

Here's the group:
Parker, Gabe, Austin, Aura, Evany

 Maddy, Jackson, Lucy
Savannah, Lara with baby Anastasia, Caleb, Josephine
Heidi with baby Nate, Kelsey, Leila
Ashley with baby ? in her tummy, Savannah
Kerstin with baby ? in her tummy, Wade
 Keala, Albert John
Up, up and away we went! And Nona in the front pack the whole time. ;)
Austin and Gabe has both their Halloween Preschool Parties on the same day- needless to say, they were sugared up and loved all the fun crafts and costumes! People (aka Kerstin and Nichole!) get very creative these days with food! We painted pumpkins, played Halloween bingo, popped Halloween balloons filled with candy (poo Austin kept popping the chocolate ones, which he doesn't like! Shucks, said Gabe. I'll help you out!), made spiders out of pipe cleaner, made candy corn/popcorn-filled witches hands, and ate lots of sugar.

Caleb, Austin, Eliza, and Maddy enjoying a treat at Nina's house. It's fun to have someone with a PhD from Harvard teaching your kids!
