Tree Lighting at the Montage

I have a favorite place I like to go in Laguna Beach. It's the Montage Hotel.  I love to walk the grounds and see the beautiful landscaping and stroll down to the beach and walk through the tide pools.  I found out this year that they also put on an amazing evening in early December for their tree lighting ceremony. It's complete with free hot cocoa and cider, a free kid zone where kids can do crafts, get their face painted, decorate cookies, and even a line to see Santa! Of course, since it's free, everyone and their dog is there, so the lines are 40 minutes long. Oh the things we do for "free" things.  Austin did wait for the face painting but we lost attention after that. We enjoyed the free samples of the hotel chef's creations and hearing the carolers sing.
Gabe and Austin could have watched the toy train for hours!

Here's the ginormous tree, which thankfully is there year round.
Lots of fun + lots of sugar = a big crash in the car when we drove home.
